Project Description
Root Canal Therapy (Endodontic Therapy)
The term “Root Canal” can strike fear in the hearts of many. Yet, it’s actually a common procedure. So, why would you need a root canal? In the center of your tooth rests a small area filled with blood vessels and nerves. Generally speaking, this area is called the dental pulp. When this area becomes infected, it becomes painful. One way to save your tooth, and your sanity, is to have a root canal.
Essentially, the goal of a root canal is to replace the infected area with a type of filling. Dr. Jessop will carefully, and gently, remove the nerve and blood vessels inside the tooth. Next, we make sure it’s free of bacteria. Then, a special type of filling is used to seal the recessed area.
